400 kV DC/DS Line Foundations — Jindal Power Limited
High-tension tower and switchyard foundations executed with precise alignment, HT safety protocols and robust concrete works for long-span transmission.
Project overview
The project involved constructing high-tension tower and switchyard foundations for a major transmission line. The site required precise alignment and robust concrete foundations capable of supporting long-span electrical towers while adhering to strict high-tension safety standards. Aakar Infra’s role was to convert design drawings into accurate, buildable foundations that ensured structural stability and operational reliability.
Scope of work
- Civil foundations for transmission towers and switchyard structures
- Excavation and reinforced concrete works for long-span support
- Precision surveying and alignment of towers
- Coordination with electrical and site teams for safe installation
- Access roads and drainage around foundation areas
Challenges
- Limited site access for heavy equipment and materials
- Maintaining precise alignment over long spans
- Ensuring safety during construction in high-voltage areas
- Coordination with multiple contractors and ongoing electrical work
Our approach
Aakar Infra divided the site into clear zones, sequencing foundation works to minimize conflicts and ensure safe construction. Temporary access paths and safety platforms were installed early. Regular progress monitoring, surveys, and coordination meetings helped resolve issues proactively, maintaining alignment accuracy and safety.
Outcome
- Accurate, durable foundations for high-tension towers
- Safe execution with zero incidents
- On-time delivery supporting reliable power transmission
- Long-lasting infrastructure built to withstand operational loads
