Flexible 4-Lane Highway — DBL

Flexible 4-Lane Highway — DBL

Bituminous four-lane corridor designed for rolling terrain, with controlled asphalt laying, drainage and improved ride quality.

Project overview
The project consisted of constructing a flexible 4-lane bituminous highway through rolling terrain. The highway required controlled asphalt laying, proper drainage, and design practices ensuring ride quality and durability.

Scope of work

  • Bituminous 4-lane pavement construction
  • Subgrade preparation and drainage management
  • Intersections, ramps, and shoulder works
  • Quality checks on asphalt layers and surface finishing
  • Phased execution to maintain continuity and safety

Challenges

  • Rolling terrain requiring careful grading and leveling
  • Controlling asphalt compaction and surface smoothness
  • Coordinating drainage with pavement layout
  • Minimizing construction impact on traffic

Our approach
Aakar Infra divided the project into manageable sections and sequenced works to optimize asphalt laying and compaction. Drainage channels were constructed concurrently to avoid delays. Continuous monitoring ensured smooth surface, proper thickness, and high ride quality.

Outcome

  • High-quality 4-lane highway with smooth ride quality
  • Safe and durable road capable of handling traffic loads
  • Efficient drainage integration preventing waterlogging
  • On-time delivery meeting all design specifications
